Interim England coach Stuart Lancaster has admitted he could makes changes for the Six Nations clash with Wales as a number of big names are ready to return to action (England 13/10, Wales 8/13, tie 18/1 in the match betting).
Lancaster has brought in some new blood to the England side which performed so poorly at last year’s World Cup in a bid to freshen up the national set up.
So far the fresh faces appear to be working with England winning their first two Six Nations’ matches in Italy and Scotland.
Lancaster’s next test is to see whether his players can take their good away form back to Twickenham for a huge clash against title hopefuls Wales.
Having been without Toby Flood, Manu Tuilagi and Courtney Lawes for the first two matches, Lancaster has been boosted by the news the trio will be fit to take on the Welsh.
All three could come back into the England starting XV, according to Lancaster who has also suggested scrum-half Lee Dickson and number eight Ben Morgan could start after impressing off the bench against Italy.
“Players have to be on form and playing well to go into a Test match against a side of the quality of Wales,” said Lancaster.
“There were also some impressive performances from the bench against Italy, notably Lee and Ben.
“There are now options coming back into the equation which previously weren’t available – three World Cup players (Flood, Tuilagi, Lawes).”
Lawes, Flood and Tuilagi have all been released from England (5/1 Six Nations outright) duty for this weekend’s Aviva Premiership matches, joining 11 other players in returning to their respective clubs.
