Ramos – Barca don’t have ‘fear factor’

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos insists rivals Barcelona do not have the same ‘fear factor’ as they once did ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico (Real 5/4, draw 5/2, Barca 2/1 – Match Betting).

The two teams will meet in the La Liga desperate for three points with the title race heading towards a thrilling climax. After 28 games, Carlo Ancelotti’s side sit on top of the table four points clear of Barcelona while Atletico Madrid are also very much in the running.

A win for Los Blancos in the crunch clash could ultimately see Barcelona drop out of the title race with Gerardo Martino admitting it is a ‘must-win’ game for his side to remain in with a chance of defending their crown.

Barcelona were sitting pretty at the top before Christmas but a poor recent run has seen them drop into third in one of the most exciting league finishes in Spain for many years.

Ramos, who is expected to start in El Clasico, believes the Catalan side will still provide a stern test but is adamant that they don’t possess the same ‘fear factor.’

He told GolTV: “People talk of crisis at Barca but they’re in the Cup final, the quarter finals of the Champions League and they’re four points behind the League leaders.

“What has changed is the fear other teams had of them.”

Real will be without rising star Jese Rodriguez who is out with a knee injury, but Ancelotti is set to recall Karim Benzema (11/2 First Goalscorer) to his starting eleven after he was rested for their Champions League clash against Schalke in midweek.
