Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has challenged his players to prepare for a fourth-round pot-boiler against Accrington in the FA Cup on Saturday (Accrington 6/1 draw 10/3 Fulham 4/9 FA Cup fourth round – match betting).
Wales midfielder Simon Davies could return when the Cottagers look to avoid unwanted record of losing to League Two opposition (Accrington Stanley 66/1 English League 2 – Outright) in front of what is expected to be a huge crowd at Livingstone Road.
Hodgson knows his could players could fall to a banana skin if they do not ready themselves for a physical and mental confrontation against John Coleman’s men.
He said: “They are sitting pretty in League Two, but for glory they need to knock a Premier League team out of the FA Cup.”
He added: “We did quite well in the cup last year, and reached the sixth round.
“It was a nice experience and we would very much like to repeat it.
“If we could go further, why not?”
The Cottagers have lost their last three Premier League matches and will again be without star striker Bobby Zamora against Stanley because of a shoulder injury.
