Defiant Portsmouth boss Avram Grant felt his rock-bottom side were robbed of the points in Wednesday night’s 1-0 defeat at Fulham in the Premier League.
The Cottagers picked up their first win since beating Manchester United following a run of five straight defeats, but Pompey were arguably the better team on the night.
Jonathan Greening’s second-half strike was enough to settle matters but Bobby Zamora looked offside during the build-up and Grant was not happy with the decision.
He said: “They did not even deserve a draw. There was also a mistake by the referee in the goal, because Zamora was offside.
“After what has happened off the pitch, the players gave 100% and gave their heart.
“I am very proud because it is good that we showed even with the problems off the pitch, that we kept the spirit of the game and gave 100%. As long as we have a chance, we will fight.”
The defeat leaves Pompey five points adrift, with 15 games left this season, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Manchester United (United 1/8, the draw 13/2, Pompey 22/1).
