Di Matteo eyes new chapter

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has called on his squad to write a new chapter in the club’s history ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (Tottenham 13/8, draw 23/10, Chelsea 7/4 – Match Betting).

The Blues are battling on three fronts, with the FA Cup and Champions League still up for grabs, whilst also hoping to finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.

Di Matteo has worked wonders since taking over at Stamford Bridge following the departure of Portuguese tactician Andre Villas-Boas back in early March.

Chelsea (9/4 FA Cup outright) are set to take on London rivals Spurs at Wembley on Sunday, with both teams hoping to reach the FA Cup final. Here they will take on Liverpool, who booked their place in the showpiece event thanks to their 2-1 victory over Everton on Saturday.

Di Matteo is looking forward to the showdown with the Lilywhites and has called on his players to bring success to the club.

The Italian said: “This group of boys have won the FA Cup many times themselves.

“They like playing at Wembley, and have done so many times with their club and the national team. It’s a special place to play.

“At the end of the day, you need to get on the pitch and write the history of that game.”
