Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen has included Internazionale’s Samuel Eto’o in his 23-man World Cup squad despite the striker’s quit threat (Eto’o 6/4 to be Cameroon’s top goalscorer at the World Cup).
The former Barcelona forward was unhappy with comments made by Cameroonian legend Roger Miller and missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Slovakia on Saturday but Le Guen has chosen to include Eto’o in his 23-man party (Cameroon 100/1 to win the World Cup).
The Frenchman had included a number of players based in Cameroon in his initial 30-man squad but the final 23-man squad includes just one player based in the African country, Coton Sport forward Vincent Aboubakar.
There are three players who ply their trade in the Premier League in Le Guen’s chosen side, with Spurs pair Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Sebastien Bassong included, while Arsenal’s Alexandre Song has also been given the nod.
