Dzeko delighted to end drought

Edin Dzeko 300x204 Dzeko delighted to end droughtManchester City (1/2 – Premier League Outright) striker Edin Dzeko has revealed he knew he would end his goal-scoring dry spell as he hopes to notch up more crucial goals in the coming weeks.

The Bosnian striker ended his run of 11 games without a goal when he found the back of the net in the narrow 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium on Monday night.

With the win over the Latics, City now find themselves three points clear of rivals Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table.

Dzeko managed to start the season in superb form with 13 goals in 14 outings, but has come in for some criticism in recent weeks for his barren spell.

Now the 25-year-old has got his name back on the score sheet, the former Wolfsburg striker is hoping to score more goals and will be looking towards City’s next outing in a big clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (Man City 4/5, draw 12/5, Tottenham 11/4 – Match Betting).

He told City TV: “It was just a matter of time. It is always like this. Sometimes you score a lot of goals, sometimes you can’t score even from a 100% chance.

“But that is football. I am happy for me and happy for the team that I scored again and we won the game.”
