Comolli eyes Reds exits

Charlie Adam Scots 300x215 Comolli eyes Reds exitsLiverpool (10/1 Premier League 2011/2012 outright) director of football Damien Comolli has admitted the club are looking to offload a number of outfield players this season.

The Reds have managed to bring in two major signings in the transfer window this summer, with Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson and Blackpool’s Charlie Adam both moving to the Merseyside club.

Manager Kenny Dalglish is looking to bring a few more players to Anfield ahead of the new season with Roma Keeper Alexander Doni and Aston Villa’s Stewart Downing both strongly linked with moves to Liverpool (Evs top four finish).

With the Reds adding to the squad in a bid to challenge once again for a place in the top four, Comolli has admitted there will be players surplus to requirements at Anfield who will be moved on to new clubs.

He said: “We’re lucky we’ve got two of our priorities. That’s good, and I’m sure there’ll still be a lot of movement, especially going out but also, hopefully, a few more coming in.”

The likely departures from Anfield include Alberto Aquilani, Milan Jovanovic, Paul Konchesky and England international Joe Cole, who have all failed to settle at Liverpool.
