Cisse: QPR will stay up

Mark Hughes 300x205 Cisse: QPR will stay upQPR new-boy Djibril Cisse took only 12 minutes to break his duck for the Hoops against Aston Villa and claims to be “100% sure” his new side will not be relegated (QPR 9/4 to go down).

The much-travelled French forward arrived at Loftus Road for £4million from Italian side Lazio on transfer deadline day as manager Mark Hughes looked to rejuvenate a Rangers side that had been struggling.

Cisse (11/2 First Goalscorer versus Wolves) scored the opening goal in the 2-2 draw against Villa on Wednesday night and fans could have reason to be optimistic with the Frenchman’s start, while the player himself is looking forward to working with another deadline day addition, Bobby Zamora.

He said: “It is a good thing for us that we have signed Bobby Zamora. The objective is to stay in the Premier League.

“We need good strikers and good players, it is good to play alongside a good striker and Bobby fits into that category.

“But, from what I saw against Villa, I was really impressed and 100% sure we will stay up.”

On Saturday QPR welcome second-bottom Wolves to Loftus Road as Mick McCarthy looks to revive his struggling side, with their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in midweek making it nine matches without a win for the Midlands outfit (QPR 10/11, draw 5/2, Wolves 16/5 – Match Betting).
