Dyche handed Burnley job

Burnley are set to unveil Sean Dyche as their new boss, but Harry Redknapp says he is not set to move to Blackburn (Burnley 66/1, Blackburn 7/1 – Championship outright).

The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing in the Championship, with the Clarets turning to former Watford chief Dyche, who has also had a temporary role with England’s Under-21 squad.

The 41-year-old has been without a full-time post since the Hornets dispensed with his services in July when the Pozzo family installed Gianfranco Zola.

Dyche’s first game is set to be this weekend’s home clash with Wolves at Turf Moor as he comes in to replace Eddie Howe following his return to Bournemouth (Burnley 11/8, draw 12/5, Wolves 6/4 – match betting).

Meanwhile, Redknapp has dismissed claims he is set to succeed Steve Kean at Ewood Park. The former Spurs boss told Sky Sports: “They’re a good club with a good squad and good support but it’s not for me.

“I’m starting to get bored. You can only play golf every so often and my golf isn’t improving. I’m looking to get back in (into football) and I’ll just wait and see what happens.”

Finally, Ipswich are currently interviewing candidates to replace Paul Jewell, with former Wolves boss Mick McCarthy strongly linked with the hot seat at Portman Road.

Jewell left the Suffolk outfit by mutual consent last week with the Tractor Boys rooted to the foot of the Championship table.
