Mourinho wants Real stay

Bet on Real MadridReal Madrid coach Jose Mourinho intends to honour his four-year contract but hopes to return to England and challenge Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson (Champions League outright – Real Madrid 7/2, Manchester United 9/1).

The Portuguese coach has been tipped to succeed Ferguson but Mourinho hopes he can again lock horns with the Scot rather than take his place at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has a four-year deal at the Bernabeu and the former Chelsea boss intends to see out his contract, but indicated he plans to return to the Premier League after his stay in La Liga.

“I don’t think about other clubs, especially as I have a four-year contract with Real,” Mourinho told CNN.

“I signed it and when I signed it, I signed it because I wanted to be at Real Madrid at this period of my career. I am not thinking about another club.”

When asked about the possibility of succeeding Ferguson at United, he added: “No, the perfect scenario when I go there is to coach, because I think football will lose a lot when he stops.

“For me, he’s the boss. I call him the boss because he’s the boss of the coaches and I hope that when I go back to English football he still manages Man United.”

Mourinho’s side travel to Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday and the Portuguese coach will be eager to go all the way and lead yet another club to success in Europe’s premier competition, having won the trophy with Porto and Inter Milan in the past (Champions League coupon – Ajax 7/1, draw 7/2, Real Madrid 4/9).
