Celtic clash excites McGeady

Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady is looking forward to the prospect of taking on his former club when he lines up for Spartak Moscow against Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday night (Spartak 8/15 draw 3/1 Celtic 6/1 – Match Betting).

The Russian outfit were unfortunate not to come away from Camp Nou with anything, after they were narrowly beaten by Barcelona 3-2 in their opening group game.

Now the ever improving Spartak (16/1 Group G outright) will be looking to build on the positives from their last outing against the Catalan giants when they take on the SPL champions.

McGeady is getting set to face his boyhood club for the first time since leaving Parkhead in 2010 and the 26-year-old believes he will have mixed emotions when he takes the field at the Luzhniki Stadium.

He said: “I try to catch most Celtic games on TV and I keep up to date with what’s going on online. But, obviously, I’m now a Spartak player.

“Of course, Celtic are the team I grew up with, the team I support and the team I grew to love, but tomorrow night (Tuesday) that all goes out the window.”
