Brown makes case for defence

4626829 300x217 Brown makes case for defenceWes Brown has challenged his Manchester United team-mates to defend better as a unit ahead of the crunch Premier League showdown against title rivals Chelsea (Chelsea evens, draw 9/4, Man United 9/4 match bets) at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

United were trailing 3-1 before earning a 3-3 draw against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday to secure their place in the Champions League knock-out phase.

Brown could again be asked to step in alongside Nemanja Vidic in the likely absence of Rio Ferdinand in west London and the England international accepts he could be in for a tough afternoon against two-goal Champions League hero Didier Drogba (5/1 First Goalscorer).

“We cannot concede like that when we go to Stamford Bridge,” he said.

England defender Brown expects Chelsea will be fired up to put down a marker against the champions, and added “It will be our toughest game of the season.

“They have been doing very well.

“They are a well organised team and they will be very strong. They are scoring goals at the moment and we will have to be really on top form to think of getting any points.”
