Barcelona will be without Andres Iniesta for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid (Real 17/10, Draw 9/4, Barca 17/10 - Match Betting) after he suffered a calf strain.
The influential midfielder will be forced to sit out the clash at the Bernabeu, as coach Pepe Guardiola says he “can’t play at 100%”.
Iniesta will join full-back Maxwell on the sidelines, with the Brazilian ruled out of the trip to Madrid with a groin injury but there has been some good news for Barca (2/1 to keep a clean sheet).
Skipper Carles Puyol is available after missing the last two games, the Copa del Rey defeat to Real and the La Liga win over Osasuna, with a muscle strain and will join the Barca squad along with fit-again Gabriel Milito.
Guardiola insists his team will go for the win in Madrid, saying: “If you come to this stadium looking to defend a result, they will roll over you.
“I can’t do that, I can’t change the way we play because of the injuries.”
Meanwhile, the home side (11/4 to score in both halves) will be missing centre-back Ricardo Carvalho through suspension, while Lassana Diarra is expected to replace the injured Sami Khedira.
