Arsenal eye top spot

The Gunners beat the Trotters 2-0 on Sunday in Owen Coyle’s first game in charge of the Trotters after he succeeded Gary Megson earlier this month.

The two sides go head to head in midweek and Arsene Wenger’s side can leapfrog second-placed Manchester United (11/4) and current leaders Chelsea (8/11) and move to the top of the table if they collect all three points and win by a couple of goals into the bargain.

Captain Cesc Fabregas started the scoring at the Reebok yesterday in the 28th minute after returning from a three-game absence because of a hamstring problem.

And the Spain midfielder started the move which saw Fran Merida kill the game off 12 minutes from time.

Bolton remain in the bottom three, a point adrift of safety with half of their season now gone.
