Ancelotti reveals Lampard return hopes

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard warms up ahead of a game Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard could start the Premier League clash at Arsenal on Sunday after missing the last two weeks.

The 31-year-old has been sidelined by a thigh problem he picked up in training on international duty with England ahead of the friendly against Brazil in Qatar earlier in the month.

Lampard missed the 1-0 Champions League win at Porto on Wednesday night which secured top spot for the Blues in Group D but he is ready to step back in this weekend at the Emirates (Chelsea 13/8 To Win).

Premier League leaders Chelsea (8/11 Outright Winners) have a five-point cushion at the top of the table but have already lost two games away from Stamford Bridge so Lampard’s availability would be a big boost.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti told Sky Sports: “He is working very well and trained well today (Wednesday). He could start the game.”

Hosts Arsenal have injury problems and are set to be without Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Kieran Gibbs.
