Ancelotti outlines Blues dream

The Blues dominated the domestic competitions in Ancelotti’s first campaign in charge, capturing their third league title and their sixth FA Cup.

However, on the European front, the west London club were outclassed by Inter Milan, who at the time were lead by former manager Jose Mourinho.

It was yet another disappointing season in the Champions League, Chelsea (11/10 Community Shield winners) having suffered heartbreak in the semi-finals and final of the competition in recent years.

While owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to see his club lift the European Cup, he has implemented some cut backs this season, meaning the Blues haven’t been able to spend big like they have in the past.

However, Ancelotti has given his backing to his current crop of players, claiming they can help him achieve his dream of more European success.

“In my first season with Chelsea, we won the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield. But I missed out on the Champions League, so that is now my dream,” said the Italian.

“At the moment everything here in London is good. But I know if we do not keep winning that things will soon change for me.”
