Ancelotti eyes Euro glory for in-form Chelsea

7826361 300x206 Ancelotti eyes Euro glory for in form ChelseaChelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed he would prefer to win the Champions League (7/2 with Betfred)  this season, despite the Blues continuing their fine Premier League form with an impressive 3-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday.

The Italian coach has overseen a superb first three months to the season since he was appointed in the summer and the Blues sit pretty at the top of the table, five points clear of Manchester United in second, after two goals from Didier Drogba helped them to a convincing success against rivals Arsenal.

However, Ancelotti has admitted that the Champions League is personally a more important competition for him.

“I prefer always the Champions League,” Ancelotti said on BBC Radio Five Live.

“It is the most important competition in the world. I know very well that in England it is very important to win the Premier League.

“It is different from Italy – in Italy the most important thing is the Champions League for a club.”

Ancelotti added: “When I came here Mr Abramovich didn’t say to win the Champions League to me.

“He would like to see his team arrive at the end of the season in all the competitions. This is the most important thing for him.

Next up for Chelsea is the Carling Cup quarter-final at Blackburn on Wednesday before a trip to Manchester City in the league next weekend.
