Daniel Alves warned Barcelona will fight to the final whistle against Internazionale to overturn a first-leg deficit and reach the Champions League final at the Bernabeu on May 22 (evens Barcelona – To Qualify).
The rampaging right-back said the holders would have to revive memories of their 2-0 win over the Serie A title-chasers in the group stages of Europe’s premier club competition earlier this season to stand any chance of reaching the showpiece final.
The Brazilian refused to blame his side’s 14-hour coach journey – forced by the travel chaos resulting from the volcanic ash cloud – for the 3-1 defeat in Milan on Tuesday and promised a response from the holders at the Nou Camp (15/8 Barcelona – Champions League outright).
The defender said: “We have no choice but to go for it.”
He added: “They have the advantage but there are still 90 minutes for us to change all that.”
