Adam wants to leave Blackpool

It’s understood Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request at Blackpool (11/4 to be relegated) and, should he leave Bloomfield Road, Liverpool is thought to be his preferred destination.

The Scotland midfielder has been at the centre of much speculation over his future in recent weeks, with Liverpool (28/1 Top Four Finish), Aston Villa and Birmingham all failing with recent offers.

Ian Holloway has been very vocal about the offers to date – the biggest believed to be £4million – claiming the Tangerines won’t take a cut price for Adam.

The former Rangers man, who joined Blackpool for £500,000 in August 2009, has been a key figure for the Premier League new boys this season but only has 18 months left to run on his current deal.

Holloway said last week that interested parties were “wasting their time” as Blackpool (8/1 to beat Manchester United on Tuesday) “don’t need to sell” the player.

But it appears Adam is determined to move on in January’s transfer window and he may have forced Blackpool’s hand with his transfer request.
