Andy Flower has indicated that the impressive Craig Kieswetter could be handed a place in the England squad for the World Twenty20 (England are 10/1 to win the tournament) this summer.
The South-African born Kieswetter has shone on the current England Lions tour of the United Arab Emirates and the wicketkeeper-batsman could soon get his chance in the full squad.
The Somerset ace only recently completed his qualification period to make him eligible to play for England (3/1 to win the Ashes series in 2010) and could soon join the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott in the full squad.
After seeing Kieswetter smashing unbeaten knocks of 40 and 77 in Twenty20 matches against Pakistan A and Flower feels he is a player who wants to make an impact.
The England coach said: “Craig Kieswetter has had a really good start. I’ve seen a little bit of him. I don’t know much about him but it sounds as though he is quite an exciting player.”
