Khan out to win in style

9854712amirkhan 300x243 Khan out to win in styleAmir Khan is expected, as a 1/10 favourite, to take care of Lamont Peterson on Saturday night and although he is expecting the American to put up a fight in his home town, the 25-year-old Brit has promised to put on a show.

The Olympic silver medallist puts his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles on the line in Washington DC and insists that he is not looking too far ahead, with his focus on the matter at hand.

There has been plenty of talk about of a possible ‘super-fight’ next year against the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr and Khan (5/6 to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification) has said he will put on a stylish performance to win over new fans in the US in his last fight of 2011.

“Everyone has me as the favourite to win this fight, but it’s going to be a tough match,” Khan said.

“Lamont is in his home town and he’s going to be up for this fight. He knows there are two world titles on the line.

“I’m not looking too far ahead – I’m looking at this fight first, then we go on to future fights.

“It’s not just about winning in this fight, it’s about winning in good style. I’m going to win in good style – I’m going to make some new fans in DC and put on some fireworks.”

The Bolton boxer has already said that he will have to move up a division if he successfully defends his titles as the other light-welterweight champions – WBC champion Timothy Bradley and WBO king Erik Morales – are refusing to face him.
