Poker software developer gives $350m to charity!

The unfortunately named Anurag Dikshit, the co-founder of PartyGaming recently sold 66% of his stake in the company, 75m share, and made the tidy sum of $350m from doing so. However, Mr Dikshit (pronounced Dix-it) will not see a single cent of this staggering amount of money as he plans to give it all to the charity he set up.

It is not the first time he has given away a vast sum of money as last December he pleaded guilty to Internet Gambling in the USA and paid a fine of $300m to the Department of Justice to prevent him facing further criminal charges.

The charity set to benefit from the billionaire poker software developer’s sale is the Kasuma Trust, which provides welfare support and education opportunities to at-risk children in India, the UK and Gibraltar. According to Dikshit’s representative, there is already close to $80m in the fund.

The very private Dikshit, who leaves a modest lifestyle in Gibraltar, shunning the luxuries of other millionaires such as private jets and boats, plans to sell his remaining 28% stake in the company in the coming months and again he plans to give any money he receives to his charity.
