When you first start out it does not really matter as you will not have many chips but as you progress you will need to think about how to stack them. In my opinion it is best to stack your chips in denominations of 10 so that it is easy to figure out how many chips you have and it prevents your opponents from asking you the same question repeatedly.

Ensure you always have your largest valued chips on show as some casinos will punish you for not doing so.
