We had to endure a minor blip last night, cashing just once from 10 poker tournaments played and that cash was for the bare minimum but after 71 games played the In The Money (ITM) statistic reads 15.5% and the Return On Investment a rather unsustainable 128.7%.
Although the early results are really good I am more pleased about how I feel my game is developing, especially when it comes to dealing with loses, even really bad beats. In the past, when I have tried to play a large number of tournaments in a relatively short space of time I have let the variance get to me and I have always quit before I logged a meaningful amount of volume. But something is certainly different right now and despite losing a huge hand with pocket kings to king-nine offsuit for a final table stack and then running set into a bigger set a short time later in another tournament I never tilted or even felt like tilting.
I have been thinking about riding this wave of good fortune I am experiencing and playing in a few higher buy-in tournaments because there is probably no better time to do so then when you are running hotter than the sun. So maybe tonight or Wednesday night I will mix in a couple of larger buy-in MTTs, nothing like $100 games but maybe a few $22 and $33 and see how I get on. Bink one of those and I would be literally laughing all the way to the bank!
