British poker players gave a great account of themselves at this year’s World Series of Poker and this seems to have continued back closer to home as three of them are in the top three in chips at the final table of EPT Vilamoura.
Swedish poker pro, Martin Per Jacobson started the day with a two-to-one chiplead over the rest of the table but he had a difficult time at the felt during Day 4 which saw him finish the day by reaching the final table of eight but he will return seventh in chips.
The three British players who have made it to the final table actually hold a massive 73% of the total chips in play, so some would say it is their tournament to lose. Leading from the front is Sam Trickett who has a massive stack of 3,322,000 chips in front of him, with Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis just 4,000 chips behind him on 3,318,000. Starting the final table in third position is former professional footballer, Teddy Sheringham who has 1,783,000 chips in his arsenal.
Each of the remaining players is guaranteed to win at least €37,248 in prize money but each will have at least one eye on the mammoth €467,835 on offer for winning the tournament outright.
