United and Real tie delicately poised for Old Trafford

I was really pleased with Manchester United’s 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening against Real Madrid.

What it has done is set up the second leg nicely at Old Trafford where I make both sides 10/11 to qualify to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

If you have not already heard, I’ve paid out early on United once again for the league. It is done and dusted in my eyes so if you have backed the Reds, pick up your dough and spend it unwisely. I got it wrong last year but I won’t be getting it wrong this time!

On to the FA Cup this weekend and this is Manchester City’s only chance of getting hold of any silverware this season in my eyes. They take on Leeds at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday where the home side are as short as 1/6. I just wonder if Roberto Mancini will ring in the changes after their defeat to Southampton.

Leeds are a really good cup side and I wouldn’t be surprised if they forced a replay with a draw which is available at 6/1. If you think they can go a step further then they are 12/1 to cause a shock.

United fans have to wait until Monday evening when they entertain Reading at Old Trafford. The Reds are 2/9, the draw is in at 5/1 and Reading are 10/1 to cause a Royal upset.

Oldham will be looking to knock another Merseyside club from the competition when they host Everton. I am not just speaking from my pocket here, but I was over the moon when they beat Liverpool at Boundary Park in the last round.

The Latics are priced up at 8/1, the draw is 7/2, while the Premier League side are 1/3 favourites.

Finally, Wigan are the local side in action in the cup this weekend. They are on the road at Huddersfield. The hosts are 5/2, I’ve put the draw in at 12/5 while Wigan could offer value at even money.
