Striker Kenny Miller insists Rangers (11/4 to win in Wednesday’s Champions League - Matches) must forget last month’s home upset to Unirea Urziceni (EVS, Draw – 12/5) and concentrate on beating the Romanians on Wednesday.
The Scottish international forward admits another loss would end Rangers’ hopes of qualifying from Champions League Group G.
“It probably would be all over if we get beaten here,” Miller said. “We know what’s at stake.
“No matter what the form is going into this game, we’ve got to go and get the three points.”
Unirea, coached by former Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday star Dan Petrescu, won 4-1 at Ibrox last month, leaving the Scottish Premier League champions with only one point from three european outings.
But Miller points to the fact that they have recovered some confidence in the interim weeks with a draw against Hibernian and a cup victory at Dundee.
“We’ll have to wipe it from the memory,” added Miller.
“It’s a new game. We’ve had a couple of games since then. We seem to have upped our performance.”
Walter Smith is still worryingly short of options at the back because of injuries to Madjid Bougherra and Lee McCulloch, although the former Wigan midfielder has been declared fit for Wednesday’s match.
